John Gramer is President of Cejka Search, a nationally recognized physician, allied health and health care executive search firm providing services exclusively to the health care industry for more than 30 years. He is a member of the management team of Cross Country Healthcare, parent corporation of Cejka Search.
As the President of Cejka Search, Mr. Gramer brings more than 30 years in executive management experience, having held esteemed positions of Vice President and Managing Director at Randstad USA and A-L Associates. He possesses a distinct understanding of recruitment, brand development and building a sales team to identify new client opportunities.
Mr. Gramer has an extensive background in accounting and finance, having originally started his career as an Internal Audit Manager and Senior Audit Manager for such firms as Revlon, Inc. and PricewaterhouseCoopers respectively. Mr. Gramer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting & Finance from Monmouth University. He has also served as an adjunct professor at Rider University where he taught accounting.
Karen Robbins is Controller of Cejka Search, a nationally recognized physician, allied health and executive search firm providing services exclusively to the health care industry for more than 30 years.
Joining Cejka Search in 1987, Karen’s extensive financial acumen and business management experience has played a significant role in the organization’s continued growth and financial success. As a member of the Cejka Search senior leadership team, she oversees all corporate financial activities including the preparation of financial statements, forecasting, and financial modeling, spearheading the corporate budgeting process, and management of the Accounting Department.
She also serves as liaison to Cejka Search’s parent organization, Cross Country Healthcare, Inc., located in Boca Raton, Florida.
Karen is a member of Financial Executives International and currently serves as the Vice President of Communications for the St. Louis Chapter. In the past, she has been a member of the Institute of Management Accountants and served on the board as a Past President of the St. Louis Chapter.
Don Weis is the Senior Vice President, Managing Director of the Physician Search Division at Cejka Search, a nationally recognized physician, allied health and health care executive search firm providing services exclusively to the health care industry for more than 30 years.
With nearly 30 years of recruiting expertise, in a wide variety of industries, Don is well-recognized as a recruiting and operations innovator who brings creative solutions to challenging staffing issues.
Don’s successful background in executive leadership, training, and mentorship — holding key positions with Randstad and SFN Group (Spherion) – makes him an effective ally and advocate for organizations who are faced with human capital staffing issues and difficulties with speed to hire. His extensive knowledge of building and implementing local, national and international recruiting teams, coupled with his 20+ years of service to the United States Air Force (to include 14 years in Recruiting Services), makes Don a significant contributor to Cejka Search’s success.
Before joining the firm, Don was the President and Chief Operating Officer of Resource Edge – responsible for all aspects of the company including sales, recruiting, human resources, operations, marketing, product enhancements, partnerships and alliances, training development and delivery and overall growth of the company.
Paul Esselman is Senior Executive Vice President, Managing Director of Cejka Executive Search, a nationwide leader in executive search specializing exclusively in the health care industry for more than 35 years. He draws upon years of results-oriented leadership experience within health care, to help board members and senior executives carefully define and secure the leadership talent organizations need to thrive in today’s transformative health care environment.
As Managing Director, Paul provides strategic oversight and operational direction for the Cejka Executive Search team and is intimately involved in nurturing the firm’s many long-term client and talent relationships. He provides client consultation for senior-level executive search engagements, focused on C-suite positions and assisting with organization development and succession planning strategies.
Having specialized in the health care executive search industry for more than 20 years, Paul is recognized as a thought leader on health care talent management issues and leadership trends. He is astute at working with senior leadership teams to identify the unique operational, financial, strategic and cultural nuances of individual executive-level positions. This coupled with his tenacity regarding all aspects of the search process, including candidate sourcing, screening and negotiations, makes Paul a valued partner to the many health care organizations he has served.
Prior to joining Cejka Executive Search, Paul successfully led sales and marketing and other transformative initiatives in the biotechnology industry for 15 years. His managerial experience includes responsibility for profit and loss statements, operating budgets, multi-department strategic initiatives, and corporate restructuring. Paul leverages his diverse industry experience to help build high-performing teams at leading health care organizations, including hospitals and health systems, academic institutions, physician group practices, and managed care.
Paul earned a Bachelor of Science from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, and is a member of MGMA, ACHE and HFMA. A recognized industry spokesperson, Paul is active on the speakers’ circuit and often quoted in media outlets, including Becker’s Hospital Review, Modern Healthcare and Physician Leaders. Cejka Executive Search is also a proud member of the Association of Executive Search Consultants (AESC).
Allan Cacanindin is the Senior Executive Vice President, Operations for Cejka Search, a nationally recognized physician, advanced practice and health care executive search firm.
Combining his expertise in emerging social and digital media with his extensive experience in the health care industry, Allan finds innovative ways to align effective recruitment strategies with the vision and future of health care delivery.
Since starting with Cejka in 2001, Allan has been instrumental in implementing digital techniques to help client organizations become the employer of choice for health care providers even in the most competitive talent markets.
He has led his team to win premier industry awards, including the American Business Awards, eHealthcare Leadership Awards and Web Marketing Association Awards. He also helped secure the firm’s recognition as the number one healthcare executive search firm in the country by Black Book and one of Inavero’s best of staffing companies.
Allan is a frequently requested association faculty speaker and member of advisory boards, with accolades from industry partners like The New England Journal of Medicine, HealthLeaders Media and Salesforce ExactTarget Marketing Cloud.
He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Saint Louis University and has post-graduate studies with Washington University School of Medicine.

Karen Ensor is the Director, Human Resources at Cejka Search, a nationally recognized physician, allied health and health care executive search firm providing services exclusively to the health care industry for more than 30 years.
Karen joined Cejka Search more than ten years ago. As a member of Cejka Search’s Senior Leadership Team, her responsibilities encompass a wide variety of Human Resource Management including recruitment, training, compensation analysis, policy development, and benefits administration. In addition, Karen has ensured compliance with a range of legislation including the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) regulations.
Karen is an Honors graduate from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, and is also a member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).
