St. Charles Health System, the largest provider of medical care in Central Oregon, announces as exceptional opportunity for an experienced physician leader to serve as Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO).
A private, nonprofit Oregon corporation, St. Charles Health System owns and operates medical centers in Bend, Redmond, Prineville and Madras, with more than 350 active medical staff, including 250 employed physicians. The medical centers in Bend and Redmond are accredited by The Joint Commission and St. Charles Bend is Oregon's only Level II Trauma Center east of the Cascades. St. Charles Prineville and St. Charles Madras are critical access hospitals that are well regarded in their commitment to modern, progressive health care.
The CMIO will provide clinical leadership for the strategic planning, management, integration and implementation of clinical information systems and technology while supporting the mission, values, and goals of St. Charles Health System. In this system-level role, the CMIO will provide oversight and direction for clinical health information management, including the ongoing optimization of the electronic health record systems. The CMIO will have an extraordinary opportunity to shape the clinical information agenda with the support of the Chief Information Officer and Chief Medical Officer at the system level.
The ideal CMIO candidate is an experienced clinical leader and medical informatics executive with a minimum of five years of experience with progressive responsibility for management of clinical information systems. Experience in data warehouse design and management in a hospital or health system is required. Candidate must be skilled in change management and performance improvement. A medical degree and current medical license required. Completion of a fellowship in medical informatics preferred, as is certification in health informatics.
