Paul Esselman Joins Cejka Search as Vice President, Healthcare Executive Search
St. Louis, June 20, 2006 – Cejka Search, a nationally recognized healthcare executive and physician search firm, has announced that Paul Esselman has joined the firm as vice president in the Executive Search Division.
Esselman is responsible for managing all aspects of the search process, including candidate recruitment, interviewing and negotiations. In this role, Esselman effectively merges his extensive management and healthcare expertise to successfully identify and evaluate the skills and competence of a healthcare executive.
“With over 16 years of healthcare experience, Paul has an exceptional understanding of the healthcare industry and has worked with executive leadership in hospitals and health systems, academic institutions, physician group practices, and managed care,” said Carol Westfall, president of Cejka Search.
Prior to joining Cejka Search, Esselman was vice president of sales for LipoScience, Inc., a developer of new clinical applications of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy based in North Carolina. In that role, Paul worked closely with executives from prominent healthcare organizations such as the National Institutes of Health, the Mayo Clinic, Northwestern Medical Center, Harvard Medical School, Johns Hopkins, Columbia and Duke Universities.
He has managed profit and loss statements, operating budgets, multi-department strategic initiatives, and corporate restructuring. Esselman employs successful recruitment strategies for building high-performing teams. He also recognizes the critical leadership skills necessary for organizational success, the importance of clinical and financial outcomes, and the need for cultural fit.
Originally from Illinois, Esselman holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale.
